Was looking for a stylish yet sedate dark fabric for a dress. This fabric is dark blue and black printed over the entirety of a piece of white knit fabric. The weight of the fabric is good, drapes nicely but there are issues with the dark colors printed on white. Don't try and top stitch it, for example, the white shows. Seams also a bit of an issue. I can't decide if it's the dye/ink rubbing off or when there's any sort of 'fold' in the fabric, it has a minute amount of stretch that lets the white show through. I had to scrap my original dress and jacket design. Made my own dress pattern to minimize seams but I'm now left thinking that my two short darts, top of the sleeves just have the faint look of dusty seams because of the white. Black Sharpie carefully applied? Not exactly sure of the solution other than to not wear said dress in strong lighting. I think the description of the fabric should have included the major factor that it was printed on white. Printing just the blue on black seems like a much smarter idea.
